This page will delve into the basic conjugation of verbs in the Persian language in the past tense, as a continuation of the previous lesson.
Fortunately for us, the past stem does not need to obtained like the present stem. Instead, you just use the infinitive and conjugate accordingly. Recall the verb endings from the previous lesson. Simply conjugate with the verb ending to your verb, (again, we will be using the verb pushidan (پوشیدن)). If we wanted to conjugate it in the second person past-tense, it would be pushidi (پوشیدی).
Negation in the past-tense is also simple, simply add na- (نَـ) to the beginning of the verb, and conjugate exactly how you normally would conjugate a verb into the past-tense. Let's use busidan (بوسیدن) as our example verb, conjugating for the pronoun to (تو).
Conjugate using na- (-نَـ) and the verb ending for to (تو), which is -i (ـی).
busidan (بوسیدن) --> nabusidi (نبوسیدی), "You did not kiss."
